Minutes of the Meeting held
September 9, 2009 


The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM by Vice President Sam Brown.  
Elected Board Members in attendance were Sam Brown and Gary Schmucker, Executive Board Member Ron Lewis and Club Manager Bill Davidson. There were 14 Club members signed in.
Vice President Brown commented on the success of the Couples Scramble that the Golf Club sponsored in August and our desire to maybe have one before winter.   He also made us aware of the Firehouse Scramble to be held on Saturday,
September 26th at 9:00 AM. VP Brown also stated that we would be applying a dandelion treatment this fall.
The Secretary presented Treasurer Norm Mankins’ financial report which gave balances for August 2009.  We had a beginning check book balance on August 1st of $ 24,788.42.  Our total income was $6,438.63 minus total expenses of $4,883.83 leaving a net income of $1,554.80.  Check book balance on August 31, 2009 was $ 26,343.22.   
A motion to approve last month’s minutes as written was made and seconded.  Motion passed.
Course Manager Bill Davidson gave his report on the past month’s projects.  He stated that they had constructed a railing on the Gate side of the bridge by the men’s tee box on hole # 8, repaired equipment, applied pesticides and continued doing normal course and maintenance work...
Old Business: The nominating committee appointed consisted of Ron Lewis and Bill Moushey.
                        The Banquet was discussed and the idea of a committee was mentioned.
                        The new trap sand was put on hold until early next year.
                        The dandelion spraying will be done later in the fall.
New Business: Projects for remainder of 2009: Paint Clubhouse; Install new porch ceiling, fan, lights; paint boards on porch benches Avocado and iron legs Brown; Paint stripe on porch floor; Paint golf course benches Yellow.
Projects for 2010: Install more rip-rap at entry road; Plant colorful Wave Petunias over rocks; Plant ornamental grasses behind petunias; Have more hanging baskets.
Open Forum:  It was suggested that we have our banquet at Mezzaluna Restaurant in Minerva. Idea will be explored.
Nominations for 2010 Officers from Nominating Committee:  President-Doug Pool; Vice President–Sam Brown; Treasurer–Norm Mankins: Secretary-Gary Schmucker.  The Committee stated that current President, Don Franz, asked to have his name removed from consideration for re-election.
Nominations from the Floor:  None
Voting for and Election of 2010 Officers: It was moved and seconded to elect the proposed slate of Officers as presented by the Nominating Committee.  Motion carried.    
A motion for Adjournment was made and seconded.  Motion carried.
Meeting was adjourned.
