Lake Mohawk Golf Club
Minutes
August 12, 2009 


The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM by President Don Franz.  

Board Members in attendance were Don Franz, Sam Brown, Norm Mankins, Gary Schmucker, and Club Manager Bill Davidson. There were 12 Club members signed in.

President Franz commented on the weather for the past month which again allowed for play almost every day.  He also mentioned the youth golf camp attended by 18 young golfers and the success of the Ken Meese Invitational.  He made us aware that two gentlemen from Lake Choctaw visited the Course to garner info in their quest to build golf course at their lake. He stated that additional logo balls have been ordered and we received new pencils with erasers compliments of  Monsoon Marine.

Treasurer Norm Mankins presented his financial report in which he gave balances as of July 31, 2009.  We had a beginning check book balance on July 1st of $ 23,586.55.  Our total income was $9,049.81 minus total expenses of $7,847.94 leaving a net income of $1,201.87.  Check book balance on July 31, 2009 was $ 24,788.42 while the checkbook balance on July 31, 2008 was only $8,116.14.  

Vice President Brown mentioned the upcoming couples scramble on the 22nd and that we are planning another couples scramble later in the summer or fall. The Firehouse Outing on June 14th  was postponed and rescheduled for July 18th.  The Club championship will be held on the 29th.  There is a possibility of a Nite golf event and also another Firehouse outing.

A motion to approve last month’s minutes was made and seconded.  Motion passed.

Course Manager Bill Davidson gave his report on the past month’s projects.  He stated that they had replaced   valves, repair equipment, and aerated tee boxes.

New business consisted of  appointing Ron Lewis and Bill Moushey  to the Nominating Committee.  New sand in the traps was discussed as was dandelion spraying next spring.  Comments about the Club banquet in October were made. Possible places to have it were the LMPOA clubhouse or  Knickers Rest. at Carroll Meadows.   
A motion for Adjournment was made and seconded.  Motion carried.

Meeting was adjourned.
