May 13, 2009
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM by President Don Franz.
Board Members in attendance were Don Franz, Sam Brown, Norm Mankins and Gary Schmucker. Club Manager Bill Davidson was on vacation. There were only 3 Club members present.
President Franz stated we had received our 3000 new scorecards which brought in additional revenue from new advertising. He pointed out that there have been changes in the handicaps of certain holes based on data received from the Tuesday and Thursday Men’s leagues. Don informed those present that the rough has been sprayed for weeds and dandelions. A special thanks to Jeff Weber for applying the weed killer at slightly above cost.
Treasurer Norm Mankins presented his financial report in which he gave balances as of April 10th. We had a beginning check book balance on April 1st of $ 10,140.31. Our total income was 17,987.80 minus total expenses of $ 10,495.92 leaving a net income of 7,491.88. Check book balance at this time is $ 17,632.19 compared to this time last year of $ 9,910.84. The membership status as of this date is:

New members – 26. That includes family memberships. Hopefully we will have some of our past members renewing their memberships this month.
Vice President Brown stated we still need volunteers to work in the clubhouse, course and at other Club functions. Sam discussed the upcoming scrambles and the need for members to support them. He stated there is a four person scramble on May 16th, a Couples scramble on June 13th, and the Firehouse Outing on June 14th.
Motion made by Franz and seconded by Mankins to approve the April 2009 minutes carried.
The new honor system was discussed and members were made aware that it has been implemented. Other old business discussed was clubhouse staffing, hours of Clubhouse operation, outside soft drink machine, Closest to/Hole in one contests, new score cards, possibility of limited food on some league nights and weekends.
In the Open forum, a member offered to assist with the promotion of our scrambles and outlined some of her ideas. We will contact her at a future date for additional info.
A motion for Adjournment was made and seconded. Motion carried.
