The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM by President Don Franz.
Board Members in attendance were Don Franz, Sam Brown, and Gary Schmucker. In addition, Executive Board members Ron Lewis and Gary Willen were present as was Club Manager Bill Davidson. Norm Mankins had a prior engagement and was absent. There were 14 Club members present.
President Franz discussed the finances of the Club and commented that it costs $55,000 a year to operate our Club. He further stated that there would be no new equipment purchases this year. He urged everyone to visit our website. In his report for Treasurer Mankins, he stated that at the end of March we had $10,140 in the checking account.
Vice President Brown stated the need for volunteers to work in the clubhouse and at other Club functions. Sam discussed the upcoming scrambles and the need for members to support them. He also brought to our attention that we will have golf bags, golf shirts, and logo balls for sale in the immediate future. Profit from the sale of these items will go directly into the Club bank account. There was a question from the audience regarding the replacement of the $ 5,000 bond that was cashed in January 2009. The answer was yes if at all possible but due to operating at a deficit last year it is not financially feasible at the present time.
Club Manager Davidson reported that greens and fairways are being cut on a regular basis. The aeration of the greens is scheduled to take place on April 23rd. He commented that there are fewer paid memberships at present compared to last year but revenue is about the same as last year.
The new honor system was discussed and members were made aware that it has been implemented. Other new business discussed was clubhouse staffing, hours of Clubhouse operation, outside soft drink machine, Closest to/Hole in one contests, new score cards, possibility of limited food on some league nights and weekends, group rates, and a covered dish before meetings.
Volunteer workdays were discussed but no concrete dates were finalized.
A motion to adopt additions to the Club By-Laws was made by Sam Brown and seconded by Gary Schmucker. Motion carried.
A motion for Adjournment was made by John Baum and seconded by Mary Lou Mackintosh. Motion carried.
Meeting adjourned.
