SPRING HAS SPRUNG! Bill and his crew have started getting the course in shape for the coming year. Our next meeting will be May 13th at 6:00 PM in the Golf Clubhouse. Please plan to attend.

We are still taking applications for clubhouse attendants for the coming year. Volunteers are always needed and appreciated for various duties throughout the week and weekend. All ages can apply for these jobs. Call or see an officer for an application, or email Gary at

We will have our 2nd New Membership Drive on April 18th. The course will be open all day for free play for all Lake Mohawk property owners who are not Golf Club members (cart rental not included). If a new non-member joins the Lake Mohawk Golf Club that day, the Golf Club will waive the $25 initiation fee.
YOU MUST COMPLETE MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS THAT DAY.
We also will continue the Closest to the Pin/Hole in One Contests on the Holiday weekends of Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day. Volunteers are needed and appreciated to donate their time for these contests. A sign up list will be posted in the Clubhouse several weeks before each event.
4 Person Scramble - Saturday May 16th. The cost will be $20 for non-member and $10 for members. Prize money will be determined by total number of entrants. Contact Sam Brown for further info @330-863-0181.
The GOLF CLUB Clubhouse rental is $100, payable at time of reservation. $50 + $50 deposit (refundable if clubhouse left in good condition). This is not an increase in the cost, but rather a way to recoup damages or cleanup costs caused by renting party. The Golf Clubhouse is available for rental all year long. Keep us in mind for parties, family reunions, holiday events, etc.

Also in our attempt to make our club more member-accessible, we would like to have the email address of all our members in addition to their member name(s), current address, phone number, and lot number. The Tuesday Night Men's League will hold an Organizational Meeting on Tuesday, April 21st at the Golf Clubhouse at 6:00 PM. The rules and schedule will be discussed with a tentative league starting date of May 5th. At least one member of last year’s teams should attend. The Thursday Night Men's League will hold an Organizational Meeting on Thursday, April 23rd at the Golf Clubhouse at 6:00 PM. All of last year's members are invited to participate this year. Non-Members playing in an organized league, must pre-pay the League Seasons greens fees, as was done last year.
Membership dues are payable by May 1st, but can be paid sooner. The Board felt that a dues increase was necessary this year to continue to provide the course conditions and service that we have been used to in the past. New Member Fee (One Time Only) $ 25.00
There has been some confusion over the definition of a Charter member. A Charter member has always been those individuals, couples, or families who in 1982-1983 had faith and trust that a Lake Mohawk golf course could and would be built. They paid 3 years of membership dues in advance even before the course was started. Their reward for this display of confidence was a lifetime discount of 25% off membership dues. There can be no more Charter members other than the originals accorded that designation by the agreement signed in 1982-83. We still have Charter members among us. A plaque with the original Charter members hangs in the Golf Clubhouse.
All other fees will remain the same at the present time. We are committed to increasing revenue in any way possible, not only by increasing dues. You may recall some of our previous ideas: Increased Bench Advertising, Lake Mohawk logo balls, golf shirts, and other apparel. We also plan to have some equipment available for sale at the Clubhouse. Any other revenue producing ideas will be gladly considered. Call any Board member with your questions or ideas or bring them up at a monthly meeting.
Along the theme of increasing revenue, we feel we need to increase the compliance of our HONOR SYSTEM of paying for green/trail fees when the clubhouse is unattended. It has come to our attention that the majority subsidizes the few who choose not to pay to play. THIS MUST CEASE! The Honor System envelopes have been changed to make it easier to catch those who are less than honest. All those using the Honor System must fill out the info requested on each envelope and place the appropriate amount of money in said envelope. The envelope will then be sealed and deposited in the slot above the scorecard/envelope box. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE HONOR SYSTEM RULES WILL RESULT IN EMBARASSMENT, EVICTION FROM THE COURSE, AND POSSIBLY WORSE! The Golf Club Thanks you for your anticipated honesty.
